http://www.eqwindows.com/

This seems to be a favorite. It contains EQ's memory space, so it doesn't bog down the entire system, and it allows you to run more than one character. Still takes a beefy machine to run two at a time but this program makes it possible.

Not likely - these days AD hardly even tries to backflag the few MAIN members and apps we have without EP/Time Flags. The best they can hope for is to get backflagged with the other guilds working on Time right now - and most of them are being pretty stingy with invites for backflags.

No - I'm playing the Warrior purely as a low-stress outlet... and to see if I can actually get an Alt over level 40!!! Very Happy

Do a Google search for "EQPlayNice". It's a program that limits the framerate of any EQ's running in the background. It has always worked well for me on my severely underpar machine when two boxing.

The biggest problem I ran into while figuring out how to two box was that I was trying to run my two windows side by side, which simply doesn't work. Make sure the windows are maximized or at least directly over top of eachother and the same size. Use alt-tab to get between them. If you're using Windows XP, check the EQWindows.com message boards for a download that will allow you to ALT+TAB in XP. EQWindows itself really isn't necessary since you can now run EQ inside a window using legit methods.

It can also help to run each instance of EQ out of two different EQ files (ex: C:\EQ1 and C:\EQ2).

some 64s are better than other 128's. luckily mine 128 is the "good" version (texture & light shaders or some crap like that), but it ain't helping me with the dual box (that or my memory settings etc aren't tweaked properly). oh well, i should probably just concentrate on ONE character anyways.

happy BDAY Laurren! wtb Laurren in a BDAY suit Twisted Evil

Something is on test that may make this easier to do soon:
Quote:
- The EverQuest process is now more friendly. There is also a slider bar to set your Max. FPS. in the Options window under display settings. This will free up more resources while running EQ. Also, when EQ loses focus it will use less resources.
