bored beyond belief, toying with how to set up a tradeskiller network so that ESII will have masters in all the tradeskills.
pro and cons of designating/appointing certain individuals? and providing them with resources so they can master?
how would you keep things "in check"?
at first I thought of having one account that the council shared that would contain the banker and tradesmen(tradeswomen)???
thoughts? ideas?
I have a feeling that crafted items will be "it" (swg style), at least for the first few expansions. _________________

This may have changed, but I read that each account can only have one tradeskiller.
The way I see it, whoever is willing to deal with all the tradeskill mess should get the items. I know I won't be it. _________________

that would blow beyond belief. actually i could see it keeping things somewhat balanced, but i just hate restrictions (restrictions that can be over come for an additional $14.95 a month). and what about those people (SWG had a lot) who just want to tradeskill/craft and that's it?
at least tradeskilling is like in EQ1 where it is an additional skill (not a seperate class like SWG).
personally crafting suits my playstyle as I am often on too late to catch a group. in SWG it allowed me to stay caught up (gear wise) simply from the cash flow (didn't have to do missions for $$$) _________________

I will put my two cents in! NOT IT!!! everyone knows this ranger is a no no on Tradeskills! They are evil and not my thing! ok just had to add.
Still that would not be fun with only one tradeskiller per account....sigh sigh....SOE _________________ Tanadel Talonleaf - Great Grandchild of Tanadil Truecaller of EQ1---lvl 54 Ranja

Seems now I think they changed it. I think they were planning on the tradeskiller to be a separate class, like in SWG. But then they changed it so the tradeskiller is part of your character.
I think the EQ2 tradeskill system has gone through a lot of revision. |

If I stick with EQ2 at all, I'll probably do a tradeskill... I usually like them. I have no idea what I'd want to do though, I haven't really looked into it. I'll happily work with whoever else takes one up and choose something different so we have a variety.
SWG limited you to one tradeskiller per server by default, since you could only have one character... I don't know how I feel about the restriction (if there is one), but I can see why they did it in SWG... it helped make crafters inter-dependant, made for some niche economies. Not a bad idea when you look at it that way, I guess. |
