/shimmy!

Kaerai and Xydjinn could give you some nice shots from houses in the different cities.

The bummer part though is that before there was offline selling you would have to log in and set up shop in your house. Now that you can sell offline I don't ever set a merchant up, so I don't ever see Kaerai's house anymore.

Also, I suspect that logging in to set up shop was the only thing that got Kaer to log in some days, and after you're logged in it's easier to forget everything else you have to do and play. Now she just doesn't play Razz

I hope soon that they add guild housing, and give us some good reasons to decorate and hang out in the guild house. EQ1 gets it for free, we should get it too!

There's not really a whole lot of reason to hang out in EQ1's house. There's the hot tub/stopped buff timers, banks and portals. I think i mayy eb the onyl one that uses the tradeskill stuff there.

They may have changed EQ2 housing since I played... but can't you designate who has permission to enter your house? I know it might be a pain, but if you wanted a guild house why couldn't you just pool everyone's gold, buy a really sweet pad, and then just give all the guild member's permission to enter? I'll bet with that many people working together you could have an awesome place!

That's one aspect that WoW hasn't really ran with yet that I think will inevitably become a part of the game at some point. Not that I really miss it, or would use it that much, but I'm just surprised that as popular as in-game housing is these days that WoW hasn't jumped on the bandwagon.

Well the price difference between a 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom place is staggering, it goes from 2g per week upkeep to 1p. The highest priced house, a 5 bedroom, is so expensive that *no one* has bought one yet.

You can pool resources, and they've advanced the sharing aspect of housing quite a bit. You can own items that you place in the house, and you can even use the heritage items that you don't wear as house decoration.

But you can't share the apartment vault, which is where you store all of the items you want to sell offline. So that means you have to maintain your own house to do offline selling if you spend most of your time in another house. And that doesn't even talk about the pain of transferring items from your house vault to your selling house if you want to set up a merchant.

And beyond that, I think guilds with their supposed 'high status' should be able to get their own free housing, and it should get better every few guild levels. Shouldn't have to pay to be able to use the guild house, you just should automatically be able to use it.

But the whole housing system is something they are working over quite a bit. I hate what they did for offline selling though, especially when the offline vendor system for SWG was awesome. I'd pay out the nose to have an NPC merchant that I can use rather than stick them in my stupid vault.
