You've got to be Freaking Kidding me?!? We lost Lud to SWG?!?

Nothing in life makes sense anymore... Shocked

Of course I've been so busy IRL lately I've been playing tons of XBox. It's easy to hit PAUSE and take care of kids - a feature EQ is sorely lacking!!1! Razz And I gotta say, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is a kick butt game for XBox Exclamation I'm already a Jedi Exclamation Exclamation

Strange things happen in the world when an Uqua wipe causes raids to end at 7pm. Yea, just what I wanted, to LFG again.

Oh yea, and I do miss console games. But, I have to get rich before I get back into them, so I can afford a decent TV that my kids aren't allowed access to, and so I can afford buying a new game every few weeks ><

EQ for me is pointless right now. I get booted from Uqua cuz I am an ap (totally understandable so no hard feelings there). Then the only other raid is Time. My game play time is limited due to kids and I would rather spend that time having fun than sitting around waiting to MAYBE get raided into something or do another damn LDoN. EQII will be coming out in the near future and I will be playing that. I love AD and the people in it, but lets not kid ourselves here. Other than being a sig bish I am useless. I get more requests for sigs or sig re-do's than I do for people actually wanting to do stuff with me.

I don't mind making sigs, but I end up spending more time making them for little to no pay and then all my free time is shot. I don't mind making the occasional sig, especially for my close friends, but sometimes I end up with so many requests that I have no time for myself and I hate that. I guess I could always say "no", but it's not in me to do that. I am actually flattered that people think I do good sigs. However, it has been nice this past week and a half being able to play a game without having to sit LFG or spend my afternoons making sigs for people. It's like a vacation for me.

I have no plans to quit EQ at all, but I am more or less pretty much done. There are a few people I will be making sigs for because frankly they earned them and I owe that to them. Some people are wanting redo's of their old ones and I will get to them when I can. So I guess you could say I am being selfish. However, Lud is only playing SWG when he is not having to be at a raid. He and I are having a lot of fun playing together without skills or class incompatibilities hindering us from having a good time.

Again let me reiterate this. I am not leaving EQ totally. I will keep my account going, but I honestly can't say what my play time is going to be. I need a breather. Life here on the homefront has been a bit hectic and I am up in the air with my job situation right now. I may be getting a second transcription job and that might be putting me out of game play all together. Time will tell. Right now I jut want to have fun and I am Smile

Can't help ya with the TV part... but renting games > buying... get sick of it, take it back. I signed up for a deal at Blockbuster where for $20 a month I get unlimited rentals and I can keep the game as long as I want - so if it takes me two weeks to beat it/get bored with it - no prob. I'm currently working my way thru LotR:RotK and Medal of Honor: Rising Sun!(I bought SW:KotOR used)

Tan, have you finished the whole game? No spoilers please, but I just wanna know how far along I am. I'm on Dantooine and I just became a padaawan and entered the Ruins. Percentage-wise, how far into the game am I?

A buddy of mine started his own character over the weekend and he is gonna play him on the Dark Path so we can see how that works! Twisted Evil My character is a Goody-Two-Shoes Scout Lv8/Jedi Guardian Lv3 Laughing

You are about 1/3 thru the game!!! ITS HUGE!!!! and sooooo many sidequests and things to do!!! be on the lookout for people in your groups sidequests!!! DO THEM ALL!!! I have beaten the game both good and bad!!! in my honest opinion.....BAD IS THE WAY TO GO! but like you Buch i go the good way first then go bad. LMAO!!! yeah about 1/3 way thru man hehe. Its a long road but soooo many great hours playing that game!!

Ludarian found a fun Nerd game (altho i like games i am not the nerd he is with computers and stuff) MATRIX!!! for Xbox! i love the game for its ability to do TONS of neat (eye candy, like the movie) moves and death sequences!!! We sat down on a saturday and HASHED that game out for hours, then we begin the HACKING stuff which he ate it up and had a blast! ahhhhh the Xbox, gaming for adults....sometimes microsoft is not all that bad.... Shocked

The ruins is just the story opener now! BTW, and there are some FUN FUN twists that they put in this game it ROCKS! GL and if you get stuck let me know, i might remember a thing or two!!! Twisted Evil also i wont give hints on how to play the game....thats HALF the fun of KoTOR is choosing WHATEVER you want to do.! GL

Lud is playing SWG...? Wow. Smile

Reading this, I realized it's probably been over 3 months since I logged into EQ. I don't think I'm coming back this time. My life kind of normalized and I feel like it takes up too much time now... I'll just see all you guys in EQ2. Smile

I have been playing City of Heroes a little though, which I got because my friends said it was fun. I was skeptical, I'm not a fan of super-hero games or comics in general at all, but I gotta say I'm enjoying it a lot. I don't think I'll want to play it forever since it's not the deepest game in the world, but it's definitely fun. I love being able to get on, do a mission or two, and log off in 30 mins.

It's the kind of game where your best option is as follows:

- Solo a few different characters to level 10-20 or so.
- Get a regular group with a few friends, team with them all the time.
- Get that group to 40 or so, see whatever there is to see.
- Quit and don't look back

I have a 21 blaster, 15 defender, and a scrapper that I've re-rolled a million times. With a group of folks on another EQ message boards we created a super group, then we set up a team that meets Saturday mornings for 2-3 hours. Those characters are only for that weekly group. The first one was this past Saturday and was a total hoot. I figure I'll play my other characters a lot less now and just play Saturdays.

It really is a game that you just work your way through and forget. I have no problems with that at all. It's certainly easy and designed around short play schedules if you want, and the variety of looks and power sets means you can stay low level and have fun if the grind becomes too steep.

I'd still like to play EQ but I don't have the urge anymore, and at this point if I logged in my shaman and joined a group, the first thing I'd do is run at a bunch of yellow-con mobs and start blasting away. Not really the best way to return to that game!

Thanks for the Info, Tan! Very Happy I really am enjoying KotOR a lot, and I think I did almost every side-quest available on the first area. (Taris) I tracked down all the bounties and either killed them or helped them, depending on what would give me light-side points. (I was pissed when I got dark side points for doing the death-match!)

I'll keep you posted on my progress!

One hint about the Dark side and Light side, well a couple of hints.....

1.) If you use dark side force powers while you are a Light side jedi it costs more of your force to use.

2.) TRUST ME YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO GET FULL LIGHT SIDE!!! a couple here and there will not STOP you at all!!! But you did learn that killing people who are part of quests without a good reason you will get dark side points Twisted Evil

Hope that helps you a little....
