devs have stated publically that character creation was WAY nerfed from the first draft. they said they wanted the armor to really stand out and if you could adjust height/weight etc they would have to make a skin for ALL the combinations (they didn't want to cheap out and stretch the armor skins across all the different body shapes).
with the game taking up the resources the way it does it will be a freakin miracle if most of us will even be able to utilize a fraction of the options so it might be a good thing if character building stays the way it is.
as for tatoos and piercings... hopefully there is a toggle switch for ALL races. body ink is one thing (not available for human monks wtf?) but nose rings are the barf. _________________

oh and question, when you do the character creation does it reserve your name to? and if so on specific servers or globally? _________________

No it's a stand alone creation. It saves the character as a .ccf, which I am sure you can load when you purchase the game, but as far as name and server it is not an option.
I still think they could have come up with something at least equivalent to SWG character creation. I run SWG just fine and I highly doubt that putting eyeshadow on a toon will cause lag. As far as the height/build customization I still think regardless of armor style it could still be better. Minimal adjustments should not affect the armor if you put specific restriction sizes for each race. I will do some creations and post them here tomorrow _________________

Every race can be every class, so yes, you can be a gnomish monk. The gnomes are funny looking though, so tiny, like they barely come up to ogre's knees. Speaking of Ogre's, fear the Ogre wizard! (yea right) |

stats will be VERY important (not like current EQ) so while fun, a gnome monk would probably be pretty hurtin in the long run.
and can every race be every class? i thought some of the "evil" professions are limited to evil races (bruisers are from freeport, monks are from qeynos etc). there might be some cross overs because some races can start in both cities but not all i don't think. somewhere on the sony site I read from a dev that "there won't be any human SKs running around in Qeynos" (sk's would only be from freeport). makes sense, and is sort of following in WoWs makeup (2 cities, 2 factions etc) _________________

| From what I understand any race can be any class. Evil races that start out in evil cities will have to undergo difficult quests to have these trees open for them, and same for good that want to go bad, but everything I've heard and read says it is possible. |

Stats were important when EQ started also.
After a few expansions, they won't matter.
But hey - maybe they will stick to the CoH and SWG model and none of the game will matter! O.o
At least I'm not bitter.... |

betray your home city will open the path for all/all combos, but (and who knows until it goes live) I think you do not gain all the "perks" of being a native to that city (tribute/housing or what have you etc)
hopefully the quests are VERY difficult. I wanna see an iksar monk and think... WOW... instead of everyone simply being able to be everything with a flick of a switch. _________________
