Thought this was a bit funny, wonder where they can lay thier hands on 20+ plat in a few hours?

RPGsalez web site

"Platt will be delivered to you face to face at the Willow Wood or Big Bend Docks. It normally takes us about 15-30 minutes to deliver but in some cases (20+ platt orders) it make take us few hours to collect platt. In this case we will deliver you part of your order instantly and then indicate time when the rest of the platt will be available."

Seems to me that the addition of the new servers hasnt hastened the demise of the farmers at all!

It continues

Disclaimer before ordering:
Please use the form below to make order. Don't forget to include your character's name. We must warn you that verification may be required in some cases. We may request your land line phone number and check level of your character in game. Sorry for inconvenince but these measures are a must sometimes due to extremely large amount of fraud. Sellers loose thousands of dollars because of PayPal scam so please understand our position. None of information we get from you will be ever used, rented or anyhow given away by us. Your email will not be added to any mailing lists also. Please use live help or email us if you have any questions. You can also check "about us" section to find out more about our company.

I had thought it was the other way around, but it seems that the farmers and plat sellers need some protection against the hordes of unscrupulous players out there who will pay for plat with bogus accounts and credit cards.

So if i have this correctly, this company operates user accounts, breaking several of the EULA agreements, annoys the hell out of the other players on line and basicaly disrupts the entire server economy by not only (i presume) camping high level instances, flooding the market with below priced loot and then reflooding the market with unearned plat.

Then they are worried that some other player, being more corrupt than they are, will steal a credit card or hijack someones paypal acount for the sole purpose of buying plat in game, a game for which they have to have an account or have stolen an account, underwhich they have to have some sort of live connection wich is traceable, unless said hacker has stolen the corresponding eqII account, proxied thier connection in a way that is untraceable (thus slowing thier game play) and risks goinng to jail for several rather serious offensess!

Whoo! Talk about risk vs. reward.

Presumably SONY is trying to eliminate this sort of thing and the owners of RPGSALEZ.com have very slyly hidden thier web site in plain view, thus confusing the diligent policy enforcement comittee at SONY! If I thought they would do anything about it at all i would pop the $4.00 for a plat and turn the name of the toon in that hands it off to me. But then that seem even more strange to be doing sting operations in VR, and in SONY's infinte wisdom they would more than likely suspend my account and strip my bank down to nothing.

I think i will just have my brain wired into my PC and hire some nurses to tend my body and become the first Cyber Entitiy and make a smashing living selling non existant items to people who have nothing better to do.

This is so funny. We are getting ready to sell our condo and had met with a realtor last night. The guys are brothers and one of them is a WoW player and I think we spent more time educating the other brother on how you can probably make more money selling in game fake items than you can selling real estate. It was pretty funny. We did hire the realtor on the condition the brother start playing EQ2 instead of WoW Wink

I actually remember the conversation more along the lines of making more money farming currency in WoW than you can in a chinese sweat shop, not real estate.

But online sales are not new. SoE is against it but doesn't do anything about it, other than offer a competing service. The Station Exchange EQ2 servers allow you to do this all through a nice and friendly Sony web page. Now any of your illgotten advantages can be legitimate! Yipee!
